Our Mission
Foster Their Future is committed to empowering foster children through mentorship, academic support, and essential life skills development. Our mission is to provide these resilient young individuals with a range of opportunities that promote personal growth and skill enhancement. We focus on creating a supportive community where they can connect with mentors and receive guidance in various areas of their lives. While sports are a valuable component of our program, our primary aim is to foster confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging, helping foster children navigate challenges and build a brighter future filled with opportunities and success.
Our Story...
The charity Foster Their Future was born from a collaborative family effort. The Albers family has always been dedicated to altruistic activities, including volunteering at homeless shelters, supporting Ronald McDonald House, and visiting senior living communities. Building on their extensive volunteer work, the family felt compelled to take their commitment a step further by establishing an organization to help children in need. Keegan and Kailey proposed focusing on the foster care system, a cause close to their hearts due to personal connections. Inspired by a news story about how intensive sports training can transform less athletic children into exceptional athletes, Bryce suggested providing athletic training to foster children. They unanimously embraced this idea because athletics had always been central to their family, fostering camaraderie, leadership, and stress relief.
Over time, however, Foster Their Future evolved into a more comprehensive support system. While sports remain an important aspect, the organization now prioritizes mentorship, academic support, and life coaching. Recognizing that foster children often grapple with feelings of disconnection, insecurity, and undervaluation, the charity aims to provide holistic support that addresses their emotional and developmental needs. Ultimately, Foster Their Future is dedicated to empowering these vulnerable children, helping them navigate their circumstances and fostering their growth toward a brighter future
What we do?
Foster Their Future empowers foster children by providing mentorship, academic support, life skills development, and athletic programs. We believe every child deserves a chance to thrive, so we create opportunities that build confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging. Through sports clinics, tutoring, and personalized mentoring, we help foster children overcome challenges and prepare for a successful future. Our focus extends to older youth aging out of the foster system, offering them career guidance and essential life skills to support a smooth transition to independence. Together, we’re building brighter futures, one child at a time.
The Future...
Our vision at Foster Their Future is to expand our impact and reach more foster children, especially those nearing emancipation. As we grow, we’re dedicated to offering comprehensive support for older youth, focusing on academic success, career readiness, and life skills that empower them for adulthood. We aim to collaborate with group homes, schools, and community organizations to create a support network that fosters long-term stability and success. The future holds endless possibilities for foster children, and with the community’s support, we’re committed to helping them achieve their fullest potential.
The Journey so far...
A six-year-old boy is currently in a foster home that has a pool and he doesn’t know how to swim. The foster mom is concerned about his safety around the water. Foster Their Future has provided him with swim lessons at his local YMCA
N-Docket: A grandmother has custody of her 4 granddaughters. As a family member, they do not receive monetary assistance, so the financial burden is fully on them. Foster Their Future recognizes the stress that this has put on their grandmother and is working to find ways to support the girls passion for gymnastics. We have also facilitated the older two girls being a part of a summer camp.
Caregivers say “the children count the days until the next clinic”. The children thrive at the clinics with smiles and laughter as an indicator of the positive impact that the power of sports and the support of the volunteers is having on them. The children have the opportunity to be introduced to various sports they might not otherwise have the chance to experience
Hello my name is Josephine and I have two grandsons ages 6 & 7. We are new to this program and new to this type of situation. I was told about this program through another person in the Foster Parenting Program. This program has done so much for not only my grandkids but myself as well. My grandkids get to be around other kids that are just like them only they don’t know that nor see that they just see themselves making new friends having the opportunity to be around and with other kids. They enjoy the opportunity to try and do all the different sports they are being introduced to and they look forward to going every week. It’s impact also is positive for the adults as well because while the kids are enjoying themselves we the adults get to talk to another and support each other while we are supporting our kids as well. It’s very much like a community of families that come together once a week. It also give the kids something to do outside of school and outside of the house and their own surroundings. These types of programs are so beneficial in more ways than one. Even in the winter months it would be great if they could keep the program going as it will keep the kids going. As we are approaching the winter months soon and the program is coming to an end I know my grandkids will be sad because they will have to wait until the spring to return back to the sports program. I am hoping that this email can give you some insight on just how important that this program is for the children but it also gives support to the adults as well where in the end it benefits everyone and everyone is impacted in the most positive way during the most stressful times in our life’s. Thank you for your time and patience as you read this email. For this is solely from my heart on how much this program means to us as a family. It’s done a lot for us all of..
What your donations will do….
Your monetary contributions to Foster Their Future will make a profound difference in the lives of foster children. With your support, we can provide the essential resources and opportunities these children need to thrive. Many foster children, lacking the love and stability of a biological family, face countless challenges every day. Your donations will allow us to offer after-school activities, academic support, mentorship, and confidence-building experiences that may otherwise be out of reach for them.
Additionally, your generosity enables us to expand our life skills training, job readiness programs, and social-emotional support, creating a well-rounded and nurturing environment for foster children to grow and succeed. Every contribution has the power to directly impact a child’s life, empowering them to reach their full potential. Together, we can change the lives of these deserving children and open doors to brighter futures.
